Wheeler dealers FAKE!!
So old edd china made a steering box pi## out of an old discovery a while back on tv!!

Meanwhile today in the real world (cold) ive been swapping one out on my 300 def.

What an absolute howler!!!! Still haven’t managed to separate the box from the uj. You never see old edd with bleeeding knuckles or with a mrs screaming youve got oil on the drive again!!

Anyway tomorrows another day, have a good evening chaps. Thumbs Up

As I have said on here a few times before, there is nothing real, spontaneous or actual about anything on TV. Everything is fake. The reality of life very rarely makes for entertaining tellie.

I think they admitted years ago that the programmes are based around three interesting fixes. The obviously don’t get lucky every time and find vehicles with only three fixes required. The rest of the stuff just has to be done off camera.

Talking of WD’s, I haven’t really warmed to Ant, the new grease monkey. I have swapped my allegiance to Fuzz Townsend on car SOS. Pity his sidekick is just as annoying Mike Brewer.

If you don’t believe any of the above, try buying a car where you drive 200 miles, meet up with a stranger who lets you take their vehicle without mention of security or insurance on a three hour test drive. Then come back and always manage to haggle the price down. Then you drive the car back seemingly abandoning your Discovery / Shogun / Subaru wherever the a for mentioned vehicle was purchased.

I am told that on the earlier shows, the buyers were stooges who actually members of the production crew although I can’t verify that.

I think I would be a lot more respectful of the format if they lost money on the sales.

5k plus on some of their spray jobs and good old mike jumps out, slams the door, “edd i love it!” Rubs the bonnet a couple of times then parks his ass on the wing!!

If you are struggling with the UJ coming off the top of the steering box ( I did when I did mine) the nut and bolt that hold it on go through an indent and have to be completely removed before the UJ will come of the spline. 1995 300 Tdi Epsom Green - It's a keeper.

If you have the right tool, breaker bar (plus scaffold tube) and a solid wall to push off it isn't that bad.

Granted when it goes it sounds like a gun going off Rolling with laughter 1995 300 Tdi Epsom Green - It's a keeper.

Tv is just like the newspapers. Never let the truth get in the way of a good story!

I like the Ed China bits but it does all look rather easy. Mike Brewer on the other hand comes across as an annoying arse and a complete joke as a negotiator.

I also cringe every time they use the word “profit”. They never take into account establishment costs, their own time, opportunity cost of finance or any risk premium. Any business run on their lines would last about 1 month.

But it's kind of aimed at jobs the slightly above average person could do at home... flipping cars to earn a bit of cash, so you wouldn't really charge yourself for that.

But it is irritating when the bang is the puller shattering and the drop arm hasn't budged!
