These things are all relative, I don’t think Ralph Nader will be coming out of retirement for the Jimny. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

I'm actually surprised at how well it stood up to the tests, given the small size.
The passenger cell integrity looked pretty good on the front end collisions, although no images of the pedal box/bulkhead area after the impact, so not sure how knees/lower legs would have coped.

By its design/ladder chassis/size I think it will be a compromise in a crash.

I think the top spec L200 have the sort of 4wd system you are asking for. It certainly used to anyway.

The L200 comes with a system called 'Super Select' which works quite well- It does allow you to use 4wd on the road as it employs a Torsen centre diff.

The limitation of the system is similar to most part time 4wds as you cannot select low without the centre diff being locked. I use low with no CDL quite a lot off road (as well as moving trailers about).

Best regards

Chris

It looks fantastic. Still a small engine though, albeit slighty more cc than the original.

From what I have seen so Far that's a better Defender replacement than the actual one.

It will also be affordable to most, the new Defender will not be.

I need a bigger version though so a Jimny Max maybe in the future.

It looks great Thumbs Up

Sadly I doubt it can tow 3.5 tonnes, nor will it have the 1 tonne payload of a Defender.

Mind you I don't suppose the "new Defender" will either. Big Cry
