Botswana holiday help
Hi I am in the embryonic stages of planning a self drive holiday to Botswana for 15 days september next year .
A few on hear i know have traveled the area and was hoping for some recommendations on 4x4 hire companies and routes.
There will be two couples hiring two vehicles . So much information ,some good some bad . We would like to camp as much as possible but not having been their have no idea of distance covered versus driving time . Want to be game viewing not driving camp to camp the whole time .
So with my all my ramblings what i need is HELP
Any info gratefully received

I've been out of Botswana for about 2 years, so not sure how much the fees have increased nor gravel road conditions.
If you fly into Maun, some mates have a hire company and can do all the bookings, etc.
Check them out http://mckenzie4x4.com/ (they don't use Defenders anymore though Big Cry)
Route 1: Maun - Moremi 3rd Bridge - Savute - Chobe - Nata (Makgadikgadi & Nxai Pans) - Maun. More water
Route 2: Maun - Nxai - Makgadikgadi - Central Kalahari - Maun. More desert
With a 2-3 night stay at each location, giving plenty of relaxed time to explore the areas, leisurely.
September is generally a better game viewing time, the temperatures are rising and grass is short, game concentrating around waterholes.
Heads up about plastic in Bots https://www.victoriafalls-guide.net/botswa...-bags.html Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so.

Drop these guys a line, very helpful and will assist with park / lodge bookings as well.

We used them out in Zambia this year.
