I bought a nice thin Anker wireless charger for 20 odd quid off ebay.
A nice bottle of Gorilla Glue from screw fix for £10 moisturised the ram x mount centre with my spit Carefully put glue on base of the charger and stuck it on and held it in place for 2 hours with a cable tie iPhone 8 Plus in a life proof case now charges perfect even when off road without opening case for charger and thus no more dust getting inside!   
You can all thank me for this hot tip!

PS yes I know I have a rubber gripper missing
 I have glued the rest in!!
£8 quid for a pack of 6 to replace the one so if anyone has one spare let me know  2011 Santorini Black USW XS.

I used number platedousble sided tape to stick mine on. Cheers

I had hoped to find a slim charger for my iphoneX and fit it to the underside of the dash above the centre vents. But can't find anything small or slimline. So might have to look at this method 110 D250 SE HT

Mark, that's exactly what I was looking to do. the anker charger shown was the only one I could get that fitted under there but there are too many ribs in the way and it wouldn't charge through them. I didn't want to remove the ribs. In the end mine is fitted on top where my phone used to sit. Phone now sits and charges on top, doesn't fall off even with light off roading. It a Samsung s8plus so similar size to the x. Cheers

James, thanks for the info. I'll have to have a look at yours the next time I see you or maybe just bite the bullet and spend some money 110 D250 SE HT
