In SA the MY11 models have an addition to the oil specification in the manual that reads: "In high sulphur markets, use WSS-M2C921-A"
this is an SAE 10W-30 oil which meets ACEA E5-99 and API CH-4 -- 2010 Defender Puma 90 + BAS remap + Alive IC + Slickshift + Ashcroft ATB rear 2015 Range Rover Sport V8 Supercharged

Hi

My car is due an oil change, so Make - Defender Model - 90 CSW Year - 2002 - 52 plate Mods - will have a Stage 1, EGR kit, de-cat and iar filter change Use (road/track etc) - mostly road Although not had the mods done yet, would like the oil used to be able to cope. For upgraded engines an ACEA A3/B3 B4 (i.e 5W-40) would be ok. Otherwise a 5W-30. Puma 110" SW

I recently changed the oil in my 2003 Td5 XS Station wagon 70kmiles and after consulting the Castrol website used their recommendation - Castrol Edge Turbo Diesel 5W 40 fully synthetic. Any thoughts on this e.g yes its fine or get it out quick!

Good choice. How long until next change?
Personally I would use an API CI rated oil for a 7500 km interval service. Puma 110" SW ............................................................. Earth first. Other planets later |

I was going to do 6000 mile oil changes as its not a big job, well not now I've got a filter wrench I can actually get round the filter
I'm going to change both the centrifuge filter and the usual canister one as well as they cost peanuts. Compared to the 80 quid for the oil |

I have a 2004 TDI 110 station wagon and some oil (unused) which is surplus from previous vehicles. I can't remember which was for which, so my questions are 4 Litres of Mobil Synthetic 0W-40 & 4 litres of Castrol SLX Longtec 0W-30. can either of them be safely used in my Land Rover a) as a lubricant, or b) being burnt with the fuel Tazz |
