3000 metres offroad in Italy
A few photos from my recent trip to northern Italy (Susa). We did the longest unpaved road and the highest in one day which was about 9 hours offroad in total. The highest road was properly sketchy Smile

You can get a map from the tourist info that includes loads of routes in the area from logging roads to unused mountain passes; highly recommended.

Only issue with the car was a blocked airfilter after the offroading day - luckily I was able to buy one from a swiss garage as the black smoke was getting embarrassing !

Yes - it was great. Best thing was having a fridge/freezer for the first time in 20 years of camping ! I have carried out extensive work on the car (new engine, new brakes all round, rebuilt the transfer box, new stub axles, swivels etc - it is basically trigger's broom) so was happy that it performed so well over the 4000 miles we did through France, Italy, Germany and Switzerland. Also went paragliding for the first time which was brilliant Smile

Looks great, I'm hoping to go to Italy in mine next year. Just curious about how to find the routes like that, but as you say the tourist information sorted you out. Thumbs Up

What the hell is that great looking pub doing in the middle of Italy, 900kms away. They need a branch t'other side of the border from me in the Italian Alps. Then I can day trip off road to have a beer. The 'Bella ragazzas' have nothing to do with it of course... Whistle Monsieur Le Grenadier

I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list.....
