The windscreen looks like it will be fun to fit, the holes for the screen brackets look well off.

i believe it to be an early prototype. hence why brackets are missing and holes not quite in right place. also, the reason for them not having the reinforcing for pedals is there footwells are twice the thickness as standard.

keep eye on there facebook page and youll see them now. they currently have a waiting list or 5-6weeks-80 bulkhead orders. Thumbs Up

Well my Sheilder bulkheads and chassis were delivered today. Had to unload it on the main road which was fun as the chassis were slotted in between 3 lowloader trailers also on the lorry.

Neither project is at the stage of rebuilding yet so won't be able to comment on hole alignment and stuff for a little while but it all looks about right, I haven't noticed any howlers on the chassis or bulkhead.

Holes for windscreen brackets look right:

The chassis comes with age-correct rear crossmember and also a galv gearbox crossmember is included.

I will be degreasing them and then painting with Buzzweld Galv in One and finally spraying a coat of dinitrol on top of the paint.

So initial impressions - very good, the galv coating seems generous, there isn't a lot of spiky bits to tidy up so I'm very pleased at this stage. I'll update the thread when we actually start trying to bolt stuff to it Thumbs Up Matt.

I'm in need of a Galv bulkhead and this one was on the list of possibilities, so good to know that feedback so far is positive

Did you buy it directly from them? The high delivery price is the only thing really putting me off buying it now - especially when the new owner of those trailers probably footed the bill for yours Confused 2013 Discovery 4 HSE Lux | 2001 Defender 90 TD5 | 2007 Prodrive RB320

I did buy direct yes. In the end I decided it was worth paying the delivery fee as we couldn't have driven to pick them up on a trailer for that cost in time and fuel. Matt.

just to clarify, are the bulkheads 'brand new', as opposed to prebuilt?

Their website:
https://www.shielderchassis.com/bulkheads/

suggests it is. If so.... they will have a new customer. Trying to find someone to rebuild mine has been a long struggle with people not answering phones, not returning emails, saying "maybe, call back later in the year...".

£1656 including delivery for a brand new item doesn't seem too steep to me. 2005 Td5 90 XS

Not a silly question Clayton, haven't posted about the other project. It's actually a mates 90 I'm helping rebuild so ordered 2 chassis and 2 bulkheads. Made sense to order them at the same time to save on delivery cost. I'll be rebuilding mine after finishing this one and full details/pictures of the rebuild will be on my thread when I do it Thumbs Up Matt.
