Ireland Trip.
Hi all
I'm trying to plan a trip to Ireland to do the green lanes there for our little group and i cant find any " 4x4 off road tours " groups or a guide. I'm thinking that as we had a great time having a guide to show us where to go, we had more time to enjoy the surroundings.
I'm not sure for how long the trip will be but we will want to make the most of the time over there as were not sure if we will make it over to there again. I'm hoping that the " guide " would be able to help us find/sort out all the accommodation as well due to being in different parts of Ireland.
This will be a big trip for us and i am trying to get all the info for them so we can try and sort something out Very Happy

A big thank you for your reply Thumbs Up 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up. Keeper.

Not 4x4 related but if you get down to the south west corner (Baltimore way) make sure you go out whale watching Smile

We hit lucky and ended up getting the pics printed in the Times Smile

I think Shane has stopped the normal tours in donegal and does adhoc ones now. Seem to remember him writing some where.

Yes. I have a recollection he posted some where he had stopped the Donegal Greenlanes on a formal basis. He is active on FB still as himself rather than Green lanes

Just one small thing from me. From 'mainland UK' we're used to seeing Ireland on the left of our TV weathermaps. Maybe they just show Nth Ireland... which misleads us into thinking "it's just a little thing, really".

Years ago now, myself and a pal drove from Inverness to Baltimore and Ballinskellig for a scuba diving trip - both of us driving 110s loaded with divers and diving kit. We landed in Larne, and headed all the way down to Baltimore in a day. Even though I'd been over previously, and since, I'd never needed to do specific long distances. I still remember the feeling of 'will we ever get there?'

Given that you're in the south Clayton, maybe sailing from Holyhead to Rosslare, then Donegal will be quite a long way off in an old LR..

Of course, maybe you'll be much better planned and prepared than we were! Donald

Hi Clayton,

Have you finalised your plans yet?
Have a look at Co.Wicklow "The Garden of Ireland" and stop and say hello if you're passing by.
