Oh yes, it’s taken me so long due to not having various tools and sizes of sockets etc etc.

I would have thought that a failed UJ provided the perfect opportunity to replace both propshafts with Gwyn Lewis HD ones, with a DC joint on the front one of course!
I have an MoT test on Tuesday and know I have a small split in a track rod balljoint rubber cover. Sine the rubber is not available as a separate part, as I see it I have no option but to fit SS Sumobars and a Disco drop arm conversion! |

Blackwolf - I'll think about it one day. Funds don't allow at the moment especially with service coming up.
Just finished uo with it pretty much, that UJ loosened up with a bit of hammering and regressing again. I would the prop ears were ever so slightly open compared to the other end. So as far as I'm concerned all is well now and they all feel pretty equal. I've just got the slider to degrease. I know you shouldn't over do it and it feels pretty smooth so I'll just give it three pumps I think. I'll post a bit more later, having a busy day generally! _\Hennessey|Venom| F5/___

All done and all good.
A few pics and video I have I'll add later, short test run I've been on and everything see,s perfect, with no vibration, noises or gearstick wobbling about a lot. (Transmission being moved around by the b****rd UJ.)
Downside is, just popped down the road and the wipers failed.  
You'd never believe it, and 5 mins before I was due to be somewhere which I had to cancel. So now I'll have to move onto that. 
Gotta laugh though! 
They stopped mid sweep, fuses seem fine Relay seems to click, no other noises or anything. I'm guessing a replacement Relay, and wiper park switch would be a good start and cheapest start. Also, what sort of puller would be needed for the spindles? I'm pretty sure they are on tight! Before dismantling the wiper system, try jiggling the arms. You may find one has locked up but can be freed by hand (they'll park spontaneously if the ignition is on, so be careful), in which case it is a sure sign that the wheelboxes and drive rack are worn.

Mine stopped working in the snow earlier this year. The rod that moves the wipers had broken at the motor. If you can hear the motor running then this might be the problem.
Mine is a TD5 so had to remove various bits but a simple fix. |

Blackwolf - I’ll give it a go tomorrow. I’ve bought a little puller for the wiper arms just in case I need it. It was only cheap so no concern.
Had enough for one day today though. 👍🏻 One spindle has a little rust staining, I’ve noticed for a while but as there was no issue at all Id not investigated any further. Is that a tell tale at all? Blackwolf - Your suggestion worked. They are now working but as you mentioned is a sign they need looking at imminently.

Pull the rubber cover back on the wiper spindle (just below the wiper arm) and spray some wd40 or acf50 down the wiper spindle then switch on the wiper and spray a bit more and they should free up. Don't forget to put the rubber cover back in place. Ray
