United Kingdom 2005 Defender 110 Td5 SW Java Black
50th Rear Tub
Hi All,

I have a friend who is rebuilding a 50th Annivesary and it is going to look amazing - original chassis but galvanised and all new parts where needed including full paint.

He cannot find anywhere that does a 50th specific rear tub (his is rotten and he has tried to weld it but has warped). He can find brand new Td5 tubs and 300 rear tubs but not 50th new tubs. Is there some modification to get a non 50th tub to fit properly?

Cheers

I thought that Laughing I know the fuel tank position is different from 300/td5 and 50th in the middle, not sure if that makes any difference to rear tub though.

Probably best to post this of the defender 50th forum and you’ll get a definitive answer from lots of ppl who know the model inside out

Agree with Romadog, Rear Fuel tank and bulkhead removed.

I think the only major difference is the capping's to accommodate the roll cage - but your friend will have them on the 50th tub already to compare or modify replacements.

Plenty will know on the 50th Forum better than me though.

I used a late TD5 Station Wagon tub in the same situation. I only remember the difference between that and the 50th tub as being the holes for the reverse and fog light. I used the later reverse and for lights that I thought looked better anyway. 1995 300tdi Defender 90 P/UP
