series 2a 1970 vin plate?
i have an old 1970 series 2A and it has no vin plate attatched so i ordered a new vin from an online company but i think i have wrong plate,
mine is a 1970 and the plate i have bought says vehicle number instead of chassis number?
the makers of the plate say the early series 2a had chassis number written on plate and the later ones such as my 1970 had vehicle number/
surely that should be the other way around? anyone got a 1970 series 2a they can confirm which is the correct plate,this is my first series land rover and im addicted to them already, i have a 110 defender but i love these series that much im thinking of swaping my 110 for another series, cheers. My 1960 S2 has a chassis number on the VIN plate (and chassis). You'll get a definite answer for a 1970 on the S2 Club. I think it should be a suffix based chassis number.

Plus the Series 2 Club will (on production of copies of documents) provide a correctly stamped and authentic plate for your series.
