2011 Defender 90 Puma 2.4 HT Indus Silver

radio coming off and on randomly

Strange thing happened today with my 2011 Defender hardtop (Puma 2.4 engine). Having been snowed in since last Wednesday we managed to get out today - did a short trip to shops in Defender - came back home, switched off and removed keys. About an hour later when outside I could hear Radio 2 playing intermittently from somewhere! It was the radio in the Defender coming on and off all by itself although ignition key in the house! Started the engine, played about with radio and issue seems to have stopped. I presume it is most likely to be a problem with the ignition switch giving power to radio when it shouldn't? Anyone had experience of this?

Yes exactly the same (even radio 2 lol). Thought I was going mad.....

Anyway this all happened a few weeks after I purchased my 2010 USW and I took it back to the dealer. Apparently he had a few of his stock doing the same thing. He swapped out my unit for another (late model but same spec) and after 6 months its been fine.

So whist I cant say why, I am confident its the radio and nothing else.

2012 Defender 90 Puma 2.2 HT Santorini Black

The same happen to me when I went to collect my seats only it was Heart

not uncommon so I was told and was lucky the seats seller had a brand new take off a newer model and all good so far except my phone keeps coming unconnected very couple of days !

I expect the windscreen is leaking and water is dripping onto the back of the radio.
