M6 Toll Road Charge
Hi
Next week (weekday) I will be heading from Essex to Cumbria for a few days by the lakes in my 2.4 USW. Anyone know what the charge is likely to be please on the M6 toll road?

It's a commercial as far as RFL is concerned but what I have read its got something to to with bonnet height above the font axle?

Anyway rather than a surprise anyone know how much I will be charged for the pleasure?

Thanks 1984 One-Ten CSW

On a through journey, unless the M6 is at a stand still there is little advantage to using the Toll Rd. I lived in the area when it first opened and used it often, mainly as a time saver during busy periods, but the ever increasing fee eventually tipped the balance. If you are passing through at a peak period, go for it, otherwise I would save your pennies. It started with a kiss, never thought it would come to this.

+1. most of the time, unless the m6 is choked, the normal route takes similar time to the toll. I usually time my journey to miss busy periods...

Nowadays I usually travel late evening and do the whole route on cruise control, with a bit of relaxing music Smile Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's)

Depending upon what sort of time I have found 9 times out of 10 it is better to carry on up the M1 and come off at 24 for A50 which will take you through Stoke to jct 16 of M6.
