I drove the 90 to get the thing out and in that particular situation they didn't perform as well as the ko2s fitted to a heavier 110, also driven by me right after. Granted it was just one situation, but the owner of said latitudes was not that impressed with them either.
Just a thought to the OP, surely pitting the the ko2 and stmaxx isn't quite on par as the ko2 is rated at 50-50 all terrain and the st maxx 30-70 off road?

Suppose it depends on what the OP is most likely to use it for I suppose, if more off road or mud biased, then surely the km2 would be a better match than the ko2?
Just out of interest JOW, what size are your tyres and how do you get on with them? Those bowler wheels look gorgeous Bow down

I went for 265x75R16. So far been brilliant no issues at all, quiet, reassuring in wet. Not been seriously off road but last weekend had so pretty stick, rutted tracks not problems. Highly recommend. James

Where did you find that quoted In my digging, I based them as a near parallel of Aggressive AT grouping. As averse to the true AT tyres like the latitude, cross contact, Grabber At, and AT3.
My friend runs the Lattitude and rates them but in similar situations he was experiencing more wheel slip than I was on MTR's and they did fill up quite quickly, although still able to make progress it didn't have the capability I'm looking for.

I certainly see what you mean, they probably are the more aggressive of the all terrains Thumbs Up

BFGs are all very good. I used to run ATs on the Discovery V8, I have them on my Ranger crewcab, and all three of our Defenders have big BFG MTs on.

It's a safe choice, though in the environment we run them in the limit is about 20-25k miles but that is still more than most others. My Ranger has about 50k on it now and has been through a set of Grabber AT2s (good tyre, but no longer available), a set of Grabber ATs (wasn't that impressed, quite soft and I think lasted about 10k), and nearly a set of BFG AT KOs as well.

Miker and Theater what mileage and tread depth are you experiencing? I hear good things and other feedback will help in my research.

Hi Devon-Rover ,

I have the ST Maxx on my 110 from 25000 Km .
My ST Maxx are still M+S and not POR .
I use them every days , on the road and off-road .
On the road they are't noisy, the mud isn't their favorite terrain .
On my 90 I had the Cooper STT,a great tire for me ,but very noisy on the road, with less grip especially on the wet road , but very good off-road.
For now I'm happy with them .

The votes are in and have been noted.

41 - 10 in favour of the BFG. What this means is that I should rush out with my hard earned readies and buy them. BUT.. I just cant make the justification for an Extra £110 out of my limited 'modification' budget That's £110 that will probably end up going to brendan at 4x4 overlander for when I get around to the receiver hitch. Whistle

Yes they are great but TBH the whole very wet road performance still isn't answered satisfactory for me, You look at the tread pattern and see how it traps it rather than directs it away longitudinally as per the cooper.

I have spent hours doing 'research' and my gut goes with the cooper. If I don't like them then I'll report it and they'll go up for sale and I'll have some authority to speak from.

Thank you all for the input Thumbs Up Also can be found on Fb, Ytube, Insta & Twitter @4WDSouthwest

Well they have been ordered from 4x4 tyres and delivery is projected for Friday. And in exchange for hobnobs, Jaffa cakes and choccy digestives I'll get 'em fitted on Saturday. Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Also can be found on Fb, Ytube, Insta & Twitter @4WDSouthwest
