A lot of log book miss matches with defenders, even when new. Go with an insurance company who understands defenders. A-plan on here for example Thumbs Up 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon
1990 Vogue SE
Triumph Tiger Explorer 1200

I had reverse problem. On some online insurance sites mine was listed as a hardtop van and others correctly as a station wagon. It is data quality and dvla problem as you found.
None specialists on Defenders probably not that interested in correcting the database. 1995 Defender 110 CSW

When I had a 300tdi 110 3 door I had exactly the same problem, I eventually insured it through a broker who made sure that the insurance description matched the vehicle.

I thought at the time that it was because the vehicle was registered on a private plate that the "confusion" with DVLA arose. Not so it seems Confused

Several insurance companies, contacted directly, claimed that the incorrect description would make no difference Shocked

I suspect that it would have been a get out clause for the insurer in the event of a claim.

if the insurers dont have the exact spcific option for your truck and you have informed thim this by e mail or letter and they are stil happy to insure you ..then they wont have a leg to stand on.
