2009 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 XS CSW Stornoway Grey

I got 411 miles out of a full tank of mr. happy shopper diesel before the reserve lamp lit up. It is a personal best for my 110.

Granted, this was achieved by me driving like a granny between 55 and 65 max.

2007 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 XS CSW Tonga Green

I'm well over 300 on 60 litres now which means it's gone from looking like low 20s (borderline unacceptable) to highish 20s - acceptable.

All rural roads, no cruising, short trips so not exactly ideal for good mpg figures! Defender 110XS SW gone... now VW California 180 4 Motion.

Daily commute to & from work, on BAS 1.7.2 running on BP 50ppm, consumption was 9.6l/100km. --

Worked out as 27mpg for me - actually quite pleased.

We do no commutng, all rural roads and I don't hang about so hard on the engine. Expected sub 25mpg. Defender 110XS SW gone... now VW California 180 4 Motion.

but.
2007 90 Htop,standard no mods on power train.
Average mpg 30
worst mpg 25 (motorway at 85mph)
Best mpg 38 (max speed 50mph )

In the late 1970's Deisel sold for £0.80 per gallon you got paid £0.80 per hour min wage. Now we pay£5.50 per gallon roughly and the national min wage is £5.65ish.So on that basis fuel is still as cheap as it was when I first started to buy it. JUst a thought.......... Its never over in my land rover.

I've averaged 29.5mpg over almost 20,000 miles according to the Road Trip app for the iphone.

Quite impressed!

can you get these fuel apps for a Nokia Navigator phone If everything is under control you are not going fast enough.

Just gor 20mpg (US gallon not imperial).

I drove a lot on the highway. I don't get why it would be so low.

500 miles? Out of a 90 tank? Are you sure - doesn't that make it about 50mpg?

Another 27ish mpg on the last tank. Getting 340-360ish miles per 60ish litre fill up.

110 with a few heavyish bits, almost 100% rural road driving. Tend to work it fairly hard. Defender 110XS SW gone... now VW California 180 4 Motion.
