A friend of my father had an oldish G wagen for years to tow his daughters horsebox. I remember it was beige and pretty basic but I quite liked it. I would have an older one as something different, I quite like the look, but the new ones, like modern Land Rovers/Range Rovers, just look like drug dealers cars to me. 2011 110 USW

The video shows lots of black G - wagons with blacked out windows driven by large well dressed gentlemen with scant regard for rules - so if Defender had been pushed way up market to appeal to eastern block gangster types it might have outlived the Merc.
