1997 Defender 110 300 Tdi SW Alpine White

Defender ignition operation (97 110 model TDI 300)

Hi Forum,

devising new wiring for a few additions to the landy and need a sounding board to ensure it is on a good foundation.

Defender ignition question: - correct me if wrong (esp. about IGN/Acc)

Start - Momentary power (Acc off)
IGN/Run - Live whilst engine running on in this position as well as accessory
Acc - Accessory live only (Ign not live)
Off - obvious

Yes the accessory that works is the radio/cd player only when the ign is turned to acc, but when the engine is running what ever accessory you got will work unless you have wired it up live ( straight from the battery ). Clayton.
