North Wales, guided tour/green lane
Hi All,

Living in Cheshire has the bonus of having North Wales in my backyard. Having explored the area quite a bit with my road car I'm now wanting to dip my toes into some light off roading/green laning.

As I'm quite the novice I think I'd be best to go on a paid guided tour and/or weekend excursion. Google didn't bring up much so was hoping someone might know of such an offering.

Thank you in advance,

P

We are planning on running them in the snowdonia area, had a grp booked in end of this month to go but hotel could not accomodate in the end! Will look at it all again it there is the interest. Would need give to six vehicles to make it cost effective. Cheers

Join GLASS, most areas run regular free trips out.
You also get access to Trailwise which gives you information about lanes.

Alternatively buy an OS map, look at the BOATs (byways open to all traffic) and ORPAs/UCRs (other routes with public access/unclssified county roads), plot a route, check on the local council definite map for closures (most are online these days), go off on your own.

I would recommend taking some means of getting yourself out of a pickle should you get stuck, the cheapest and IMO most useful being some waffle boards.
