12v cigarette sockets
I've had some electrical work done, including the fitting of 2 of the above in the rear face of the cubby box (the lad's DS etc etc). Sadly, the sockets I ordered from Vehicle Wiring Products aren't up to the job. The wall of the cubby is an inch or more thick and the socket cannot be clamped around the two flat surfaces, inside and out. Does anyone know of a brand of socket that could be fitted instead, ie much longer ones with longer threads?

I have 2 holes and two loose-hanging sockets at the moment!

Cheers,

Ade D300 HSE 110

We do a surface mounted socket.

I think (dangerous I know Razz ) that some of the sockets have about a 1" threaded section. Will check later and maybe take a photo.

Counterbore the cubbybox to reduce the thickness, or mount the sockets on a plate fastened over a larger hole.

Have a look here.....

http://www.mudstuff.co.uk/12v-sockets.shtml

Their rectangualar socket (along lines of Blackwolfs suggestion) may work if the holes are far enough apart ???
