Long time lurker, new time poster
Just thought I would say a quick hello. I've been looking at purchasing a defender for well over 2 years and around 4 months ago finally found the right one.

I really just wanted to say a big thank you to all the people on here for helping me make this decision and also with all the amazing information that you guys post and share. Bow down

I Bought the defender with only 30k on the clock, a previous CAT D write off but rebuilt by the previous owner. Usually with a second hand purchase you will end up finding little odds and ends that the PO has hidden away. But happily in this case, his workmanship has been pretty darn good!

So far I have replaced a rubber gearbox mount, the rear hubs for the 859 Ashcroft versions as I had slightly worn splines and fitted a NAS rear step. I have fitted a Dixon Bate adjustable tow ball to the Step which required a little modifcation to the supports, but nothing that difficult.

And here she is dirty Very Happy

The tyres are 35", General Grabber AT2. Finding it quite difficult to find them to be honest. I'll probably change to another brand when these are finished, purely because I can't get them easily.

The paint is just 'grey'. Was re-sprayed from the original green, as it got a little scraped when it rolled! Looks great in person. Especially with a little mud!

Nope, its had to have a 2" lift to fit them on. Still get a Little bit of rubbing when its crossed up, but nothing that marking anything.
