surely its easier to deflate the tyres, drive in. (reinflate if needed)

As it stands, and perhaps this may be of use to anyone else looking for springs:-
Alive - out of stock of their comfort lowering (1.5" at the front and 1" at the rear) springs for at least five weeks Urban Truck - in stock but lower the vehicle by 2" and make the ride stiffer, so not comfort. Twisted - don't offer lowering springs and the springs are "performance" orientated. Coil Springs - five week lead time but can offer comfort and lowering. |

Which springs do you think you will go for? I'm contemplating changing mine... did you by any chance get a price from coil springs? I would like to go for handed springs as thats what I have on mine now. 1993 200Tdi Defender 90

Hello, i put onto recently the Alive comfort springs. I do did a post on this effect, overall very positive.
I say in that post I did write that the defender does not appear to have lowered very much. It has settled a little but overally it has lowered down the roof by about 2cm at the middle (high) point. I hope this helps you, for me the lowering was not the target and the springs alone do not account for much of this. |

It might be a bit late now but have you tried TMD over at "The man for Land Rovers"? They now do progressive lowering springs and I'm off to pick mine up this morning if they have them in stock.

I ended up speaking with Digby at Extreme4x4 off the back of a recommendation. He was helpful and chatted with me about the various options - they can supply progressive springs in a range of drops. Ride quality should be in line with the stock set up.
As the soft top sits quite high at the back, due to there being very little weight, I've gone for springs to lower and level the 90; overall I'll end up with 1.5" lower but, in fact, the rear springs are actually a little lower, just to achieve a level front and rear. They are being fitted at the moment, so will try to post some when I have it back. |
