1 step foward 2 back :(
Hi all
Any ideas? Driving home from work tonight I hear a bang from underneatht the car. I think toward the front. Then when I tried braking there was an awful knocking noice. One driving it is fine but as soon as you touch the brake it sounds horrid.
I got recovered home but cant see anything wrong brakes look fine and nothing looks out of place. Does it sound like a driveshaft problem? Any ideas would be really welcome...Was my birthday today as well Sad

lost a mounting bolt out of a calliper - when you brake it clatters the inside of the rim.

Depending on age check the thread, IIRC on my last truck they were imperial.

Always locktite them back in...

Thanks. You are a genius. Just checked and yes I have lost a bolt on the near side calliper. It's flopping around. Poke like an easy fix.
The RAC guy was way off.
Thank goodness for the experienced on here!
