Maybe worth calling 101 to report. They should be able to record it and generate a crime number.

1. I have just called the Police again and pushed a bit harder - they were great! taken all details and now I have an appointment to see them. Log reference in my possession ![]() 2. Mailed DVLA to see if they will give me the details of the owner as well as per Inigo's recommendation Let's see how we go ![]() |

Just a Quickie for all about Protected NCD
Yes your NCD is usually protected for 2 claims in 5 years. BUT and here is the rub ! Your premium is not protected and go's up. I had Storm damage to a van, claimed was told it was an act of God so could not claim of the buildings owner ( roof tiles blew off onto parked van) Kept my NCD but my premium nearly doubled |

There is potentially one other answer.
Once you have the address/ details phone the Company up that owns the vehicle & ask for the Transport manager. Explain what happened & they may settle outside their own insurance because they may have a high excess on their fleet. You will need to know how much it will cost to repair your vehicle. Transport managers take a dim view of drivers not reporting accidents. I had a similar incident where a vehicle entered my Estate & smashed one of my gate posts & left without reporting to anyone. We caught the vehicle on cctv & they rolled over - £5.5k to fix the damage May your life be like toilet paper ; long & useful. |
