1989 Defender 90 V8 Petrol CSW Alpine White

Smell or burnt rubber

So as it's raining and I was smartly dressed I didnt fancy looking underneath today after I stopped and smelled burning rubber....This happened both on my out journey and the return, so I am sure it's not somebody else.

If you assume that I couldn't drive it THAT fast, is there a common fault that produces this - or am I on my own? The smell was distinct when I opened the driver's door to get out. 2013 2.2 puma.

Obviously it could be something I have run over and caught on the exhaust somewhere - but I thought it worth asking on here first. V8 90...WIP

I would agree. Sounds like Dpf regen. Had me crawling about underneath the first time regen was in operation as I pulled in the drive.

I've had this aswell, 2013 XS 90. No idea what causes it but it does smell a bit like the handbrake left gently on, except it wasn't. 2.2 90 XS

Yes my Audi used to do the same, unsettling the first time it does it
