Freelander 2-and-a-half Fuel Cap
Anyone got a new Freelander 2, the facelifted one?

I've had two different courtesy ones now, and on both of them it has been a pain in the backside to get the fuel cap off! Is there a special knack to it or what?

Fuel light has just lit up again now and can't face the embarrassment of holding up the fuel pump again....

The flap is controlled by the central locking/alarm. If you're in the habit of locking the vehicle for security when fuelling up then it is almost impossible to release the flap without forcing and perhaps doing damage.

I was tempted to join the F2 forum to ask, but didn't fancy being labeled a bit of a dim Def2 owner who struggled with a fuel filler cap...

I unlocked all the doors (double press the unlock button) and it didn't seem to make much difference... Pull, push, twist, hit, swear... leave for a few seconds, it hisses, and it's off... Stupid design!
