This time its my Boss's Land Rover I am having to fix the wiring for rear door.
Inside the LR I have 5 random wires at the rear door (chocky blocks so not expecting it to be easy). The Rear door I think is off a newer LR and have a 6 way plug[1] (using only 5 wires), the other is 2 way plug[2]. Any wiring diagrams would be helpful. Jack [1] Black, Black, Black with Green/Purple/Green rings, wire with green stripe, black with green stripe. [2] Orange, Pink ![]() |

What's broken/not working, what are you trying to connect up?
The connector with Orange + Pink is the central locking actuator connection On the 6 way plug you have: 1. White with Black [WB]: Heated rear screen 2. Green with Purple [GP]: Centre brake light NOTE: this is coloured Black on the door 3. Black with Green [BG]: Rear wiper demand to relay on door 4. White with Green [WG]: 12V ignition switched supply for rear wiper 5. No connection 6. Black [B]: Ground What age is the Land Rover? ![]() ![]() |

Thank you @Martin that was what I needed to know for the door.
The LR is a 2000 TD5 90. I hope to take some bits off and trace back to the original wiring as there is lots of yellow/green striped wire in there and plenty of crappy connector blocks. Seems now I have to do a service on it as well, kangaroo at cold and surges once warmed up. Problem is that the boss had a drive in mine recently and was upset to note mine was in better condition for the same age of vehicle. ![]() |

Ok a 2000 Td5 has a different rear wiper electrics set up to the later cars, it is still possible to wire them up but you have to remove the door card and bypass the relay on the door.
I'll come back to you later with more. ![]() ![]() |

Right, pre 2002MY has the older rotary rear wiper + wash switch, and does not originally have a relay on the back door.
For the rear wiper you should have these colours on the vehicle: Brown with light green [NLG]: park switch output Red with light green [RLG]: rear wiper feed And not this one: Black with green [BG]: rear wiper demand Remove the relay on the rear door, and you should see the same colours coming from the relay socket. But to confirm: ![]() Click image to enlarge Red crosses show the unused positions on the socket. Connect brown with light green [NLG] from the car wiring to relay socket pin 5 (centre) Connect red with light green [RLG] from the car wiring to relay socket pin 2 (upper) Connect white with green [WG] from the car wiring to relay socket pin 8 (lower) Do not replace the relay! Also make sure you connect the Ground (Black [B]) from the vehicle to the wiring coming from the rear wiper. This will make the rear wiper on the later door work with the early switch.
