Looking to get a double DIN dash installed. The lazy side of me can't be bothered to do it if I can find a recommended installer in the Sussex / Surrey (Guildford-Kingston-Gatwick ish) area. Any suggestions?

Thanks for all the suggestions here & via PM. None of the installers suggested are very near, and if I have to spend a day going / waiting / coming back, then I may as well do it myself...
Just got to decide on which stereo to fit now... |

Hi have done it so its not particularly difficult
You make have to extend some of the switch cables - I had to extend 2 in the end as the cables were just too tight to get the unit back in comfortably. Just allow a day to fit it, as said is not difficult you just need to work methodically and keep everything tidy, and when putting back in try & run as many of the cables as possible away from the headunit as it is a tight fit behind the head unit. Good luck - there are some very good guides on here |

I figure I'll need to extend some of the cables as I've got to relocate 4 switches out of 6 that are wired as 2 pairs of 3...
I'm having more trouble finding a unit that I want to put in at the moment! I did think about the Alpine iLX-700, but not really sure how Apple maps / CarPlay behaves if you loose your 3G signal while navigating... (and it seems to have been out for a couple of years without being updated.) |

There is a place in Herts that specialises in audio and does Defender installs.
I can't think of the name of it for the life of me though. Can anyone else think of it? I swear it's in the Herts / Essex area. (And no before anyone starts, I do not mean CSK. Or as suggested, there is the option of doing it yourself. Most info is online, but can be time consuming if you are very busy with other things. ____\We|Will|Win/___ ____/π¬π§πΊπΈ\____ _//*β½οΈπ’οΈβοΈπ§°*\\_ |

I figured that if I could find a place that was recommended locally, then I'd let them do it - but otherwise if I have to spend a day travelling, then I may as well do it myself...
I haven't found my 'perfect' double DIN stereo yet though.. |

Custom90Steve - is it Audio-file at Bishop Stortford you're thinking of? I believe Riverboy used them?
