Alive Performance do 'comfort' suspension upgrade but not sure what it's like or if it's suitable. James

Isn't it the shocks that affect how hard the ride is?
My 1989 Ferrari Mondial t had a switch on the dash with three settings for the suspension (soft, medium and hard) The settings changed the damping with motorized adjusters on the top of each shock. Obviously no changes were made to the springs, which being a Ferrari l assume were fairly hard. In "soft" it floated over bad roads like an old Cortina. In "medium" it was firm, like you'd expect from a car of that type. In "hard" it was rock hard....for track use according to the handbook. So, would this not also work with a Defender? Softer shocks = smoother ride. Last edited by lightning on 25th Oct 2016 6:49am. Edited 2 times in total |

Speak to a proper Old Man Emu dealer and after telling them what sort of loads you carry and over what terrain, they can combine springs with dampers and be able to meet your needs.

Try OME springs and Koni raid shocks, a friend has that on his 110 and I like that alot.

I might look at it for my 110. I use it on the road with light loads and it is quite bouncy at the back.
Running with a full tank of diesel makes it a fair bit better. I fitted anti roll bars (not standard on 2005 110 CSW) and that made a big improvement on corners, it used to roll like a ship in a gale. |

Standard Lr progressive Springs and Koni Shocks, and upgrade the anti roll bars, most of the expedition springs are too hard unless your loaded up. 285 tyres too will help.
