I do not really need an ACF-50 aerosol. Just have the one liter bottle which came standard with that small white handspray bottle. I only use ACF-50 on all the places mentioned in one of my earlier posts in this thread, and for that the artist pencil is just perfect. The truck is fully Dinitrolled, including the inside of the front bumper, inside of the rear cross member, and then the outside of the rear crossmember has been satin black painted well before any rust could form there. So I do not really have any larger surfaces to cover with ACF-50 at all, an aerosol can would just be too messy for me.

With hot early summer weather and a long weekend here since the thursday holiday, have done some semi-annual spring truck body maintenance again. So made use of the fine pointed artist paint brush again.
Here are the products used. ACF50 and Michelin plastics and rubber treatment.  Click image to enlarge Treated all the door/window/sunroof rubbers, as well as the plastic A-bar, window spray nozzles, wiper plastic caps, rearview mirror backs, number plate light housing, etc.... with Michelin plastic and rubber treatment spray. Did not spray on at all, but sprayed amply onto a cotton cloth and wiped on window rubbers and all the rest. This time I also used this product to wipe onto the foam strip separating the upper and lower body, so under the windshield and on the sides and rear end of the truck. For this I sprayed the product carefully into a small plastic container and then use the infamous fine pointed artist paint brush to wipe onto the foam seal. I have no idea what is better to put onto this foam strip, ACF50 like I did back in October, or this plastic and rubber treatment product. Guess both will be ok, one thing is for sure, the ACF50 surely did not damage the foam strip, still looks brand new actually. Results not too bad for an almost 9 year old veteran Defender... Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Did some odd other jobs like checking if the wheel torque is the 133Nm as it should be, etc. but when by noon outside temp hit close to 30C, it was time for a popular Geneva light cold asparagus with mayo lunch kindly prepared by the Mrs., and from a distance wonder what did I possibly forget to do?

Finally we get some dry spring weather here. Time to get the ACF50 and fine tipped paint brush out again for another full foam seals and rivnut treatment. Perfect therapeutic job for Easter Monday.

Ray, we had that kind of weather for months at length. Today is about the first time it stays dry and we see a bit of sunshine since a very long time. Tomorrow it probably will rain again
, but still it is clear that spring is in the air. So hang in there, after rain comes sunshine.
I finished the ACF50 job in less than an hour. Including taking the three spare wheel bolts off and apply ACF to those threads too. Often gets forgotten, and with time those will corrode from moisture seeping in if not lubed. Eric You never actually own a Defender. I use a tiny and small modelling brush on clients cars as well as an aerosol to get the stuff under the cappings. It does not harm paintwork. Here is the stuff I do.
I use aerosol with extension to spray under rear tub body cappings which are bare metal underneath. 
Standard headlight rims. Screws in front panel. Radiator surround bracket. Slam panel. Engine bay brackets etc ACF-50 can withstand very high temps. Air inlet fasteners on wing tops. Bonnet to bulkhead hinge, the oblong plate directly welded to the bulkhead as it is also bare metal between those surfaces, just squirt a line along the top and it will sink into the crack. Wiper spindles, pull the rubbers up. False window blocks. Hinges and mirror arm. Fasteners and brackets running down inside of A post, it all rots. Do same with all fasteners inside! Outside rivets of course, get it into the middle hole also. Rear door handle where metal shows including the round key hole, it all corrodes. Towbar electrics, squirt it onto the points. ACF-50 is an excellent conductor |

Hi Zag. Always good to see you repeat those recommendations of yours. I have just one concern about your last point, the use of ACF50 in the towing electrics. Think better to regularly use WD-40 in there. Read below what happened to me.

Interesting, I wonder if it could have been dirt collecting on the ACF-50. I know the marine industry use it for electrical connections, (corrosion block paste for marine use also to seal electrical connectors ). The post on that thread from ACF-50 says it is OK

No dirt at all in the electric connectors. Actually these plugs never see any dirt. From new they are just lubed monthly or so by liberally spraying the moisture repelling WD-40 into both 12N/S plugs. Never any problem with that for all these years until I did the same twice in a row with ACF50. Washing that ACF50 out again with WD-40 solved the issue. My opinion is that ACF50 is thicker and more conductive than WD-40, and can cause bridging between the pins in the plugs, and cause some kind of a short. I like ACF50 for certain things, but not for those plugs anymore. The WD-40 also keeps them as new, so sticking to that for electrics.
