It is possible, but...
It is a very expensive way of doing it. Insurance may be difficult to find. Might make it eligible as a q plate. May well be easier to sell the van and buy a proper estate. That being said, yes it is possible. Ring someone like Foley Special vehicles, they have whole bodies up for sale occasionally but look around the £6k mark for body alone. It's only nuts and bolts.
roof and rear door can be kept from your hard top. Front doors and seatbox remain as they are with the hard top. So you'll need a middle pair of doors, some B pillars (which will be the expensive bit, trying to find a non rotten pair), rear tub, middle doors and middle floor. Q plate shouldn't come into it as the bodywork carries minimal points to make up the complete vehicle. |

I always thought that the chassis brackets were different on the 4-door models compared to the 2-doors, but I may be wrong.
Even if they are, you could always adapt the chassis. |

Ah, you're right BW, I'd forgotten about those.
There's 4 of them bolted to the "middle" outriggers. kind of an inverted L shape. I compared them on my 110 when I built it to the old "hard top/pick up" type rear body, they're just a bit longer IIRC. Weren't much to buy, £15~£20 each or so. Plus there is a bolt on crossmember that supports the middle of the rear tub. I've got plenty of pictures here of my build if you want any reference ones. Showing these brackets too. |

Thanks chaps. It's not a vehicle I have currently, but have been looking for a cheap 110 to do up and convert to a weekend camping car.
As it's such a hassle I think I'll hold out for a 5 door. Thanks 300tdi 90 1996. |

5 doors are a lot easier to come by than 3 doors, or at least they were when I was trying to buy a 3 door.
I had to travel half way across the country to get mine, there weren't any available for sale in East Anglia that I could find. |

There are lots about, just not at the right money. The 3 doors are way cheaper. 300tdi 90 1996.
