Thanks TJ Seemed to have jumped up a bit recently compared to previous years. A 2008 model looks to have lost about 8K in it's first two years then they really only do roughly 1Kish a year for quite a few years after that. 5.5K between a basic and XS but wait for a 3 month old demo and you get an XS for 27K. Shame they only seem to do XS as demo's and no utilities. I wonder if you could order a basic Utility to buy as a demo, then you could get one for 20K It really is nothing compared to other vehicles but just trying to work out the best deal! |

Think I need to get on the phone in the morning & call a couple of brokers also.... I'm running around in an old series at the moment so a basic would be pure luxury and I don't really want ABS, electric windows, heated seats etc etc that all goes wrong. I would stick alloys on it but the real shame is I MUST have one in Silver - bet they would charge at least 2k for that |

Are there really faults on electric windows and basic electrical stuff? They have been doing it for years. I think again the Tdci is being underrated. You could have leccy windows on a TD5 anyway. I don't think the silver paint will be much extra on an XS, and yes all the demos will be XS spec, not basics, and very unlikely to be USWs. 2011 110 USW

In 1997 for a one year old 110 300 TDi CSW with 18,000 miles on the clock I paid £19,600
So Defender prices have not gone up that much in 14 years Brendan |

Thanks - looks like it has gone now but can't do anything for a few months anyway. It's looking like a basic 110 Utility sprayed all over in silver. I can put a decent radio in and heated rear window from a scrapper, boost alloys from the sales section and whack on a snorkel cos the puddles are deep around here and one of those dust jobbies for the wing cos the tarmac roads are dusty around here and that will be me. After going through it all, galvanising cappings, anti rusting etc etc it will them get cotton balled in the garage for life whilst the Series 109 does all the nasty work and it certainly won't be going on salty roads. I will just go and look at it from time time with a beer in my garage hmmm must get some nice red carpet for it as well, don't want it sitting on a cold concrete floor do I |

Heated rear window is standard. See my PM anyway, but sounds like a basic with some tweaks will do you. The add-ons are very cost effective though from new. 2011 110 USW
