Should I be carrying my UK driving license on me when I cross the border into the Republic?

It won't hurt too. I can't remember doing so. But it was years ago!

I would, but then I always carry my driving license, especially when travelling.

Was just planning another trip into Donegal - last time I went I never bothered taking my licence and this time I wondered if it was a legal requirement, a nice to have or no-one really cares. Thanks for your responses What I have commented on before - was the Co Donegal anti-Defender policy of putting steel (height restriction) barriers across the entrances to public Car Parks. A sort of anti-tourism barrier which means parking up to spend money in the local economy becomes problematic. Lovely scenery and I want to see Malin Head this trip - and those giant waves coming in all the way from America. |

Well worth the trip - but do your homework in advance regarding what you want to see. |

I'm off for a rummage down the back of the sofa and then I'll ask Mrs Donohoe down the road if she still has any spare Punts in her piggy bank. |
