Possible dumb question about Hannibal roof racks
(Big breath) Ok, here goes... I think I read somewhere that Hannibal roof rack systems can be 'extended' in something like a modular fashion; e.g., if I buy one now for my 90XS and then trade that for a 110XS in a few months time can I 'extend' the size of my original rack when I transfer it to the 110?

Maybe it was Patriot that do this?!? Or maybe I made the whole thing up?!? Very Happy

Any ideas please? Or should I go and sit quietly at the back of the room...? Simon

I can't really see how this happens effectively.

Both Patriot and Hannibal racks have longitudinal rails that run the length. I guess you can get extensions (that's the sort of thing that Patriot would do).

The Hannibal racks are welded so it might be more difficult than the bolted Patriot ones. I guess the way they'd do it is by having a short supplemental rack that would sit separately. One that started out as a 2.4 TDCi 110 XS

You can't extend the length of either.

You can change the feet configuration for the various versions within chasis lengths though. If you had a 90 pick up say, and changed to an SW, both firms would sell you additional feet to replace the ladders that you would be using to support the back end of the rack over the void of the tub.

Thumbs Up

Sounds about right.

With a Patriot, you could probably go the other way - from a 110 to a 90 Wink One that started out as a 2.4 TDCi 110 XS

Ok - thanks all. I didn't see how it could work. This may be something I dreamt after a few too many beers on a Friday night, topped off with too much cheese before bed.... Thanks for being polite about it all (at least publicly anyway Wink ) Simon

It's Frontrunner that are modular. Any farther South and I'll need to trade the Defender in for a Landing Craft Smile
