Britpart item thoughts. Caveat Emptor.
Bought some items off of Rimmer Bros. The quality of item, manufacture, and instruction is not their fault, but the fact is some parts I bought from the are inferior quality.

Britpart diff guard DA2250B. Attempted install today. Nuts and bolts it came with stripped, and that was using a standard ratchet and a small hex wrench. Crap quality.

Britpart Steering / Sump Guard Steel Defender 1985 On DA2228. Spacer collars are extermely large for bolt. Sloppy tolerances. And on a LHD Puma, one would have to disassemble the grill, aircon, and radiator to get to top panhard rod. Installation instructions are not involved enough to note this when either looking before puchase, or trying to put on the truck. RHD may be easier if radiator hoses not in the way.

My fault for going on the cheap, I guess.

So, Britpart, here's to you! You are the Lucas Electric of my wallet. You are the Land Rover of Land Rover parts. I will ensure I never again buy your items. 2013 110 - Keswick Green

You say that, some of it's not bad! The new exhaust I stuck on mine recently has a britpart sticker on it, but the supplier told me it's made by bosal originally, and he's had one fitted on his for a couple of years with no problems.

The only fitting issue was that the original centre section had a flange with studs and the new one didn't!

Factory new britpart plip: didn't work
Replacement factory new britpart plip: didn't work

Gave up.

Never again.

I'd love to see a Defender made up of as many Britpart parts as possible.

Firstly, I suspect it's impossible as nothing would line up, but if it did and assuming they could get the damn plip to work, I wonder how many kms it would manage?

Maybe we should challenge them to make one? Solved the bowel problem, working on the consonants...

In my opinion the issue of parts quality is getting worse. Some suppliers are better than others but remember that they are only suppliers and most of the parts are made by manufacturers. Does Britpart manufacture anything? Would be interested to know.

Disappointing to hear about rubbish bolts and poor tolerances. Makes me wonder if you did fit them would they actually be able to do the job intended - i.e. protect the car in the event of an off road impact.

I also have big issues with the use of the terms OEM and OE as even with these terms stated there is no guarantee that the part you are buying is a current part suppled to LR or even if its made to the same quality as for LR or even if the part you are buying was ever suppled to LR by that manufacturer (the manufacturer may have supplied another part to LR).

The latest trend is to offer increased guarantee - as if that is a solution. Personally I want a part that is correct quality that I only have to fit once and will not leave me stranded. Not much the guarantee can do you you when you are on a morocco trip and something fails. 1995 300tdi Defender 90 P/UP

In Britpart's defence, I've had headlining fasteners from them and Allmakes, and the Britpart ones are a million times better than the Allmakes ones.
