I have found smaller dealers to be the best.
Big city dealers don't seem interested in "small deals". Maybe chasing company car schemes or something? Quite a lot of arrogance displayed. Not pleasant.
Smaller, more rural dealers (maybe family businesses?) seem lots better. More time to build relationships and spend time with the client.
We bought MrsK's Evoque from Macrae & Dick in Inverness (Sales guy George Leadingham). Great service. Test drives no problem. The sales guy still remembers us to this day, and always happy to have a coffee with us, and lend us a car whilst hers is in service. 100%. The main dealers in Edinburgh just showed arrogance... (and I had service issues on my Defender with one of them) so we were more than happy with the Inverness dealer...even though it was "out of our way".
Same with BMW. I bought my last one from a small family dealership in the Lake District in the end... much better than the main dealers in the city. When we collected the car, they even gave MrsK and bouquet of flowers Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's)
