Creaking headlining
I have just ordered some new genuine fir tree clips to try to solve this problem. (I have had the headlining out a couple of times and reused some clips and used britpart clips as replacements.)

I also put the aluminium strips that go above the rear doors in the wrong side and they were really noisy. Swapping them round solved that problem.

The noise is coming from right next to your ear on the passenger side...really annoying. So, before I replace all the clips for genuine has anybody any suggestions to prevent the noise? Maybe some sort of lubricant between the roof and the headlining. Seem to remember talcum powder used to be used as a fix for squeaking floor boards Laughing 2002 110 td5

Not sure that this is of any help but, I too had the headlining out for soundproofing, replaced with new fir trees and okay for a couple of days until this creaking started, even when stationary. Removed the plastic shroud running down the B pillar, packed with foam and replaced, creak gone, until today.....anyway after many attempts it still remained. The only thing I could think of was if the door was flexing in the opening it may cause this issue. So, I adjusted the door striker so that the door closed tighter, et voila, creak gone. This may be a complete red herring of course but I too had no noise before the headlining was removed. Good luck Thumbs Up I started with nothing and still have most of it left!
