Loose Trim in rear of utility
The trim ( window surround plastic if there was a window ) is loose on one side and rattles, how is this fixed, see that there are rivets under plastic caps but whst is it riveted to, other side is solid.

Its not riveted.

Go and pull it off (if its the rear) and you will see. Mike

Those aren't rivets - they don't fix to anything.

Just give it a tug and it'll come off. It's held in place by 2 spring clips. You'll need to bend them slightly with a pair of plyers once you've taken it off and then it'll just push back in place. It'll never be tight so I drilled the flange behind it (about 2/3 up the leading edge - with the fake rivets on) and put in a captive nut or rivnut. That way I can really secure it in place.

If you have windows, you can get Mantec window guards and they recommend the approach above to provide some level of security.

I did the same for the speaker panel below since it was held in place by those stupid plastic expanding rawl plugs, which broke the first time I was fiddling around. Now everything is nicely bolted in place with some easy to remove and re-fit rivnuts Thumbs Up

I'll take some photos when I'm back in the UK One that started out as a 2.4 TDCi 110 XS
