TD5 Aircon - is it worth keeping or remove for good
I have standard aircon in my 110 csw. Has never really done much over the 18 months I have owned it. This may be due to the fact that it has never been properly regassed as when I went to remove it there was none in the system. On the plus side it has the 4 air vents that blow more directly into the cab which is useful. It does take up some room in the dash area but this has never really been an issue.

Should I reinstall it and get it properly serviced/gassed or not bother? What do others with the same system feel?

Thanks

Keep it. You will appreciate it when driving the long way to Italy with outside temperatures of 40 C ... Thumbs Up

I've been thinking the same. I've got air-con lower dash and blower in my 300tdi. I've been offered all the other bits I need but don't know if I should fit it or not.

If you're genuinely looking to sell I may be interested.

Bin it. First thing I did to my 110 and don't miss the footwell filling knee freezer. Hate the pokey out grille as well so that went at the same time.

Keep it and get it to work correctly. If there was very little gas in it I would suspect a leak but get a professional to sort it out. My experience is that it can be made to work really well if correctly set up with a good functioning thermostat. 1995 300tdi Defender 90 P/UP

I ripped out mine back in the days. Still in the shed and the TD5 sold long ago. I think I have most bits anyway.
If there's interest in one of these there might be one going..
