deano, i have what i would say sounds like the same noise and it seems to be coming from further down the drive train, we think it may be slack in one of the drive shafts, i'll post when i know for sure,

The internal hub needs to move further to catch the loosen springs and therefore you get the clack noise. I guess when hot the hub and spring retainer plate expands leaving no internal friction (IMHO).

Mines always done it, albeit quietly. These last few days it's got very loud, as well as some amazingly shocking backlash in the transmission. Again!!!!
