[HELP] Easy access to permanent live on 2000 TD5 90
Hey guys,

First time defender owner (just purchased from this forum too!)

I've got a 2000 TD5 90 and I'm looking for access to a permanent live as I want to hard wire one of those little tracker boxes in.

P.S. Are there any online manuals / guides? I was gonna just start unscrewing the dash and having a look but sure I can't find any info on the wiring colours anywhere either.

depends where you are going to put the tracker I suppose. You can run a wire from the battery to any location. Try and hide it. I assume the ignition has perm 12v for dash installation. starter motor/alternator. Not sure there is anything in the rear

Purple wire in the load area on the rear light loom is perm live. Drivers seat box has supplies. Passenger seatbox has the battery! Engine bay - starter.

Dash: Radio has a permy feed. Interior lights too.

That should give you a bit to go on!

Thanks guys.

So I guess from these pictures that the purple is perm live and the red going into the orange plug is only live when ignition is on?
