Might not be a great help or work for your purpose, but i've started using a rivnut rivet gun for odd jobs about the defender; http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LASER-Threaded-N...xyni9S~LO-

I think it is a Spire nut. Available in many sizes.
Try this link http://www.lrseries.com/shop/product/listi...E-NUT.html |

Very easily available, you'll find loads all over eBay for self tappers or machine screws, just do a search for "spire clip" or "clip nut".
No point in paying silly dealer prices for parts like that. |

Your local fastener company or engineering supplies will only be too happy to supply those [speed nuts] in quantity and for peanuts compared with LR supplies places. Steve.
Owned numerous Land Rover vehicles of all shapes and sizes over the decades. Current Defender: A non tarts hand-bagged Puma 110 XS USW. [Insert something impressive here such as extensive list of previous Land Rovers or examples of your prestigeous and expensive items, trinkets, houses, bikes, vehicles etc] http://forums.lr4x4.com I used to be Miserable ...but now I'm ecstatic. |

Well, yes, you're right. But, to be honest, I'm going to my dealer tomorrow and found it easier to order the part today by phone and have it tomorrow when I arrive (they asked me for the reference ![]() |

Oh, you mean that this is the new part ... So, if I understand well, the screw itself has changed itself ?!
Because the original screw is far too large (it's a self-taper too, diameter 6mm) Last edited by flyingfab on 11th May 2016 1:05pm. Edited 1 time in total |
