Side steps clashing with front mud flaps

After finally getting these side steps powder coated in a gaudy colour Very Happy I tried to put them on at the weekend, they clash with the front mud flaps !! Is that usual ?

yes they do,
I have the same set fit and they do catch part of the rubber flap,
options for fitting are, cut the flap, or just fit and let the flap bend slightly.
I did the latter and after two years and 30000 miles their both still on and no problems

I honestly thought the OP was talking about the colours clashing! Was on the verge of admitting that my faux fur leopard skin seat covers didn't match the pattern on my fur-covered Momo steering wheel…
