I have to look to put side step on my Adventure, and don't wan't to loos the protection plate.

What about cutting out a t shaped section and hinge it to drop down with a spring return - would operate like the rear step on older Discoverys:

What do the guards underneath protect? I'm surprised I haven't seen an aftermarket equivalent if they're useful.

Steps fitted by cutting vertical bar and welding plate at same angle as guard .
Then bolting directly to guard

i too wondered that...i think they are cool but i struggle to see the point. Have they ever been fitted on a defender? Mike

If that is the case and assuming they have no negative effects they do look quite good.

Are these an item only someone with a Defender Adventure series can purchase, or are they standard items?
