I've got the xs tdci seats in my td5, they are a vast improvement over the original seats that were in it.

Re built my 300Tdi front seats with Exmoor Trim kit and seat heaters last week. Look super feel great.
I had a good look around at whether to go Exmoor or Britpart and to be fair the comments are almost split as to which is best. Already Having rear fold ups from Exmoor and middle row high backs that say Trakker on them I went with Exmoor. The below link is the thread I put up of the rebuild. (not instructional more what I saw when taking them apart and how they look now) www.defender2.net/forum/topic45639-15.html I hope this may help a bit. 1995 300 Tdi Epsom Green - It's a keeper. The problem I have with the standard Td5 seats is the backs are so low. Are the tdci any bigger?

I have a 1999 TD5
Just went through a similar dilemma. I have just ordered heated 2015 puma front and middle seats from http://www.lrisolutions.co.uk/ one of the site sponsors. It's going to be a SERIOUS job to get the middle seats in but apparently the front seats will take 30min... 1999 Defender 110 2003 P38 2007 RR SC "And that's why it needs to be celebrated, because when the Defender goes we'll have lost this pointer to where we came from, and we're really going to miss it." I looked and looked and was quite shocked at the prices for new 'defender' specific seats from the likes of exmoor trim etc.. I'm not tight arse, but for something I know i'd wear out (offloading, filling car full of junk, shooting and other outside related hobbies) I thought i'd go a different route.
I decided on some RX8 seats. Leather, electric and heated and all for about £100. They also pretty much just drop in to the existing holes, with minimal fiddling (apart form hacking off the brackets on the mazda seats - of which there are plenty). They are one of the better modifications i've made. Much more comfy, better ride/position and toasty in the winter ![]() ![]() Click image to enlarge |
