2014 Puma audio upgrade
Puma audio project DONE!!
Installed the following:
Bewith Accurate A-50 Tweeters
Bewith Accurate A-130 Midrange Speakers
Bewith Magnesium Tweeter Enclosure
Hertz DBA 200.3 Subwoofer
Audison Bit-10 DSP
Focal FPS 4160 Amplifier
Tchernov cables
Second Skin Heat Insulation on the headliner
Second Skin Sound Deadening on the headliner
Curing/break-in period is 40 hours. After, there is a need to have a re-tune of the system.
Many people will say that the Defender is one of the the worst vehicles to set up an audio system. That you can't get any decent sound from a Defender...
So what they did was think outside the box.
What the installers of Bewith Philippines did was really cool. Using the Bewith Accurate II Tweeters, they used the new Magnesium pods mounted on custom fabricated wood that slides flush in the stock tweeter location. Each tweeter is positioned different. For the midrange, instead of using the stock location below the dashboard, where there is no space (max size without modification is for a 4" speaker - I had modified mine to fit a 5.25"), they mounted each midrange speaker on top of the battery (left) and fuses (right)... In effect, utilising the space as a speaker box. Appropriate deadening material was used in the box. The mids are mounted right below the front seats, providing easy access to the fuses and battery. GENIUS!!!
We used my existing cables, subwoofer, DSP and amplifier.
It sounds GREAT (that's a HUGE understatement)!!
