Patriot Lite?
Just picked this up from the RacksDirect website:

Quote:
Patriot Lite is a brand new roof rack concept from Patriot. This new rack will be available in early 2011. A lighter weight rack more akin to the Hanibal style of rack than the original Patriot rack, with a reduced cost and the same precision engineering and carefully selected materials for which Patriot have become renowned. Shipped as a almost complete unit, with only the legs to be attached before fitting to the roof.
More info to follow.

I have emailed Patriot direct asking for detail - has anyone on here made a similar enquiry? I searched the forum for some time but found nothing.

Cheers

TC

Just got this back from their sales and marketing manager:

Quote:
The PatriotLITE isn't ready for production yet. We are in the process of developing new extrusions for final build. This will be an excellent entry level rack. Initially it will only be available in 2m and 2.8m versions. Further developement and prototype testing will need to performed before a double cab version is released.

NB - I have edited this slightly as there were comments that were relevant only to my specific enquiry; I haven't though changed any of the intent or core commentary.

Cheers,

TC

This rack has been in development for some time, I believe it is a reaction to the new EU regulations about roof racks and their weight that are due to apply in a few years. I have been waiting with great anticipation for its release.
