In my opinion, as above, Skytag tracker, we have available at a special price to forum members (see the FCX section of the forum) then additionally I would move the alarm sounder and add an additional earth internally from the battery to the seat box.
There are lots of threads on security do a bit of searching |

Rustproofing whilst it's clean and easy to do, then just drive it You'll soon find out whether you need or want to change anything. Headlight relay is well worth doing, it's not expensive, massively improves performance and removes a known weak spot. I've added some sound deadening, cargo rails, changed the roof from grey back to the original white, put a second battery in for camping, fold down table on the rear door to replace the broken plastic thing and fitted a tracker. The most important thing to do, however, is buy some diesel for it and go and explore! http://www.trailwise.org.uk/ will show you lanes that are open and and restrictions. If you join GLASS or another group then you can search a wider area on the trailwise map. Bing maps will give you OS maps of the whole country, and if you've got a smartphone then for £10 Backcountry Navigator will give you them for offline access too. Once you've got a Defender people seem to like asking for a tow, so find out safe ways of doing that if you don't already know, and if you're comfortable doing so then get a decent rope. Drive it! |

Thanks for that Matt Should have said "or similar" but then, the longer you own one the more likely you are to become as flawed as one, and I am sure we have both owned them long enough to admit it! Good on ya Matt!! |
