Can help with plenty of bits and bobs that could assist you and have visited most of the attractions over the years. Number 1 place to visit is Etosha for me though. Oh, I look after Air Namibia on the cargo side in the UK too  |

No real advice, but I visited Namibia this year and I have to say it is one of the most spectacular countries I have ever been too. The scenery is amazing! Euro-Leafing to infinity and beyond.....

Spent 5 Weeks this year touring Northern Namibia following Kwando, Okavango and Kunene rivers. Absolutely fantastic, don't miss out on the National Parks in the Zambezi Region (old name Caprivi Strip). As previously stated don't miss Etosha National Park. The "community camps" are really good value for money and clean. Best time of year in my opinion is April to October.

when in Namibia...
rule #1: No matter how far/near your destination is, it'll take you a full day to get there. rule #2: do NOT speed on gravel roads. In a fully-laden 90, top speed should be 80kmh. Deflate tyres to around 1.8 bar to maximise traction. rule #3: do not drive at night, esp on gravel roads rule #4: as a precaution, do not keep cash in your wallets, only cards. If stopped by cops asking for bribes, show him your empty wallets and demand to be issued a fine so that you can go pay it at the nearest town with a credit card. We rode motorbikes through Namibia a coupe of years ago so slightly different issues but awesome country. In addition to the advice above note that the gravel roads are graded according to their quality and state although the grading is not consistent through the country. Obviously which track you go on will determine your speed and ability to get from A to B. Great campsite at Solitaire which is a gateway to the dunes. We did not get to Etosha as came in from Botswana and then headed south via Windhoek. However it was only mechanical issues that meant we did not have time to get there and would say it should be an absolute must as one of the great nature reserves in the world. The wilder bits are down the east side through Bushman country; we were recommended to travel with other vehicles if we ever went that way.

Slightly off this topic but I just returned from Zimbabwe. They have recently gazetted new vehicle regulations that require 1. two reflective warning triangles 2. A reflective vest 3. a 1.5kg or larger fire extinguisher 4 no more than two spot lights. On the last I saw two Namibian registered vehicles being ticketed for having two spots mounted to the bullbar and two fitted in the ARB type bumper.
