I'd be inclined to not bother with dealer fitted ICE with what they charge and the limited choice, instead I'd buy my own from ICE experts. The wiring is still fitted, ICE or not.LR used to fit VDO Siemens head units, which are the biggest pile of badly built dog sh*t ever made, dunno who supplies their std fit head units now. Pov.spec,ftw. 2006, 110,TD5.

Can you tell me where land rover put the amp and remote for this sub? Pictures appreciated. Thanks.

I realise they could go under a seat but....where do LR put them?

Thanks in advance.

It's an active sub so the amp is inbuilt but as for the remote I don't know as I don't have one Whistle

All the pictures show a separate amp.

I believe the amplifier is built into the same housing as the speaker as I've never found a seperate amp and the controls are through the stereo.

My Alpine amp is velcroed to the back of my cubby and just last week I changed the four 10cm speakers which were adequate - now have Alpine 180 w speakers and the sound is superb Amp cost £130 and speakers £40.

Hey Browjam, could you tell me which Alpine speakers and amp you installed?

Audio Upgrade
I have the standard upgraded Apline head unit.

I paired it up with the following:

Upgraded rear speaker with Mud Speker rings and Focal PC130 Speakers

Fitted the following sub woofer onto the rear of the cubby. It has a control unit to alter the amount of base, I located this just inside the cubby box.

Sound is fantastic actually, I plug in my iphone to the USB and also via bluetooth and the sound A1.

Probably 100's of other done exactly the same as I have already so nothing new but in short the standard head unit with two simple upgrades makes the world of difference in my opinion. LR Defender 110 XS Utility Wagon

I'm also planning the active sub upgrade... Where did you take the 12V supply from? Could you send any details or pictures? puma 2.2 MY2013
